The Florida Gators cruised to a dominant 12-0 victory over Harvard in a seven-inning contest at Condron Family Ballpark on Friday night.

Despite not hitting a home run for the first time this season, the Gators (13-2) displayed impressive depth across the lineup, with contributions from all over the order.

Starting pitcher Liam Peterson led the way, earning his fourth win in as many starts.

The sophomore right-hander tossed five shutout innings, striking out a career-high 11 batters and allowing just four hits.

Peterson's performance helped Florida dominate the Crimson (0-7) and keep them scoreless.

All nine of Florida's starters either scored or drove in runs during the game.

Colby Shelton, Brody Donay, Blake Cyr, and Luke Heyman each had multiple hits, with Shelton leading the team in RBI with four.

He also hit his SEC-leading ninth double of the season.

Peterson wasted no time asserting his dominance, striking out the side in the first inning on just 12 pitches.

The Gators wasted little time capitalizing on his strong start, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

Hayden Yost reached base with a leadoff walk, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Bobby Boser, and scored on an RBI single from Shelton to right-center.

With an early lead, Peterson continued to excel.

He struck out two batters in the second inning to keep the Crimson off the scoreboard.

Harvard did threaten in the third, getting a pair of infield singles from Jack Rickheim and Matt Giberti.

However, Peterson responded with back-to-back strikeouts to strand both runners.

The Gators extended their lead to 2-0 in the third inning.

Boser led off with a double into the right-center gap, and after two outs, Donay lined a clutch RBI double down the right-field line to score him.

Peterson maintained his dominance, striking out his eighth batter in the third and later working out of a jam in the fourth.

After collecting another strikeout, Peterson induced a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning with another zero on the scoreboard.

Florida's offense exploded in the fourth, adding four more runs to break the game open.

Landon Stripling led off with a single, followed by Cyr being hit by a pitch.

A walk to Yost loaded the bases, and Boser was hit again to force in the first run.

Shelton then cleared the bases with a double down the left-field line, putting the Gators up 6-0.

With Peterson's stellar outing complete, Florida went on to score six more runs in the sixth inning to seal the victory.

Brendan Lawson singled to right to start the inning, and Stripling walked on five pitches.

Cyr then roped an RBI single to left to drive in Lawson.

After an infield single by Heyman, Ty Evans hit a double down the left-field line to bring in two more runs.

Yost followed with a sacrifice fly to right to score Heyman, and Boser added a run with a fielder's choice that brought in Evans.

Donay capped the scoring with a triple to right-center, scoring Boser and putting the Gators ahead 12-0.

In the sixth, Peterson was relieved by freshman Niko Janssens, who quickly retired the side in order.

Janssens came back out in the seventh and continued his solid work, recording a strikeout for the first out before retiring the side to secure the run-rule victory.

Peterson's strong outing improved his season record to 4-0, with a 0.86 ERA and a remarkable 34 strikeouts to just six walks over his first four starts.

Harvard's starting pitcher, Callan Fang, took the loss, allowing two earned runs in 2 2/3 innings of work.

Fang allowed four hits, walked one, and struck out one.

With the win, Florida extended its all-time record against Harvard to 7-0, with all seven meetings taking place in Gainesville.

The Gators are 4-0 against the Crimson under head coach Kevin O'Sullivan.

The victory was Florida's second combined shutout of the season, and the Gators' strong pitching staff has produced a 181-to-43 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 15 games.

Notably, the team has stolen 31 bases this season, already surpassing 70% of its total stolen bases from the previous year.

Florida will look to complete the series sweep when they take on Harvard in a seven-inning doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at noon.

The second game of the doubleheader will start approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.
