Florida's offense came alive on Tuesday night, blasting a season-high five home runs in an 8-4 win over North Florida at Condron Family Ballpark.
Bobby Boser led the charge for the Gators, going 2-for-5 with two home runs, including a sixth-inning grand slam.
His powerful performance brought in a total of five RBIs, setting the tone for a dominant Florida outing.
Boser now leads the team with 10 home runs, becoming the first Gator to reach double digits this season.
Justin Nadeau, Colby Shelton, and Brody Donay each added solo shots, with Shelton’s home run marking his 50th career long ball.
Florida scored all eight of its runs via the home run, showcasing its power on a night where the ball was flying out of the park.
The game started with some early tension, as North Florida threatened in the top of the first, getting three runners on base.
Florida's Jackson Barberi was able to work out of trouble with a pickoff and a strikeout.
The Gators responded swiftly in the bottom half of the inning, with Nadeau hitting a leadoff homer to right field, followed by Shelton’s blast, putting Florida up 2-0 early.
North Florida fought back in the second, with Mitchell Collins launching a solo homer to trim the Gators' lead to 2-1.
Barberi was replaced by McCall Biemiller, who preserved the advantage by striking out Cade Bush after issuing a walk.
The Gators' pitching staff continued to shine, with Caden McDonald coming in for relief in the third.
McDonald retired three Ospreys in a row, including two strikeouts, keeping the game in Florida’s favor.
Boser joined the home run party in the third inning with a leadoff shot to left-center, extending the Gators’ lead to 3-1.
McDonald kept North Florida at bay with another scoreless inning in the fourth.
In the fifth, North Florida tied things up with a solo shot from Bush and an unearned run off a throwing error, leveling the score at 3-3.
After North Florida’s rally, the Gators took the lead once more. Donay’s solo shot to left field put Florida back on top 4-3.
The Gators then loaded the bases, and Boser stepped up to deliver a towering grand slam to center field, pushing the lead to 8-3.
Florida’s bullpen, led by Jake Clemente and Christian Rodriguez, kept North Florida off the board in the seventh and eighth innings.
Clemente, who earned the win, tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings, while Rodriguez retired the side in order in the eighth with just nine pitches.
In the ninth, Billy Barlow came on to seal the victory for Florida.
After giving up a run on a groundout, Barlow got the final out, securing the Gators' 8-4 win.
With the win, Florida improved to 20-11 on the season, and they’ve now won 17 of the last 18 matchups against North Florida.
The Gators are now 23-7 all-time against the Ospreys, with a dominant 18-4 record at home.
Florida also extended its success against in-state teams, improving to 10-3 against in-state competition in 2025.
The Gators’ powerful offense was a key factor in this victory, with all eight of their runs coming via the home runs.
The victory kept Florida's impressive non-conference record intact, improving to 19-3.
The Gators are also a strong 8-2 in midweek games this season.
Looking ahead, Florida will aim to continue its momentum as they prepare for a weekend series against No. 23 Vanderbilt, starting Friday night.
