Social Media Strategist at The Independent Florida Alligator (May 2025 - Aug. 2025)
Founded in 1906 and becoming independent from the University of Florida in 1973, The Independent Florida Alligator is regarded as one of the largest student-run newspapers in the United States, with a daily print circulation of 14,000 and a readership exceeding 21,000. The Alligator has long served as a training ground for future journalists, including multiple Pulitzer Prize winners. As the Social Media Strategist for Alligator Sports, I managed the Instagram page dedicated to covering University of Florida athletics for a student-focused audience.

In this role, I oversaw the planning and execution of all content for the Alligator Sports Instagram, producing timely posts that highlight game coverage, athlete profiles, and breaking sports news. I collaborated with writers, editors, and the audience and growth team to analyze engagement metrics and identify which types of content resonated most with our audience. I used those insights to guide content planning and ensure our posts consistently reflected the interests and needs of the UF student community.
To enhance our storytelling, I designed graphics and multimedia content using tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, making sure each post was both visually compelling and accessible. Managing the Alligator Sports page has strengthened my skills in digital communication, content strategy, and design. It has also allowed me to contribute to one of the most respected student publications in the country, helping uphold its legacy through modern, engaging sports coverage.

Social Media Assistant at Her Campus FIU (May 2022 - Dec. 2023)
Her Campus FIU is a dynamic, student-run organization dedicated to empowering college women through creative content and community engagement. As the Social Media Assistant, I helped enhance the chapter's presence on social platforms, particularly Instagram. My responsibilities included designing and posting over 30 original graphics and videos to promote member spotlights, articles, events, and brand collaborations, helping showcase the diverse voices within our community.
I contributed to establishing Her Campus FIU’s unique brand identity by selecting cohesive color palettes and visual themes that resonated with our audience. I also took an active role in member recruitment by reaching out and connecting with potential new members, ultimately contributing to the growth of the chapter and its 1,700+ Instagram followers.
This experience allowed me to refine my skills in graphic design, social media strategy, and digital communication. It also gave me insight into how visual storytelling can amplify engagement and build a stronger sense of community within a college organization.
